2017 Scholastic Art and Writing Award Winners
For the fourth year in a row, our students at LSG have won distinction in the national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition.
Dating back to 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running program for artistically talented students. Past award winners include arts and literature luminaries including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Robert Redford, Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, and John Updike.
Our winners this year are:
- Evalynn Bogusz (7th) won an Honorable Mention for her poems "Trapped," "Owl and Mouse" and "Different Kinds of Beautiful"
- Abi Farr (8th) won an Honorable Mention for her short story "The Tragedy of the Byrd Theory"
Congratulations, ladies!
