Girls Who Code is open to girls in grades 3-5 and grades 6-12. It was founded with a single mission: to close the gender gap in technology.
It provides a supportive environment with mentors to inspire girls to go beyond their comfort zones.
Participants are taught the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basis of all computer programming languages.
The girls learn to work in teams, practice public speaking, tackle difficult problems, and design social impact projects to address issues they care about.
Girls Who Code for grades 3-5 is new and can be run entirely unplugged.
All girls get a copy of Learn to Code and Change the World, written by the founder of GWC.
Students read and discuss the nonfiction book and do activities to reinforce concepts.
Optional online components will be explored.
There is no charge to join our GWC sessions.
Our current sessions are full, but if you would like to be added to our interest list, please complete the form below.
