Reflecting on our broad experience with both private and public schools, Loudoun School for the Gifted is the first school that has met – or even tried to meet – the needs of our academically-advanced daughter. LSG focuses on the needs of each and every student (taking into account both strengths and weaknesses) and addresses them by crafting the ideal course schedule for each. Our daughter loves that LSG assigns classes by ability not age. This school does not boast; instead, it delivers on creating a challenging, engaging variety of classes designed in many ways like college seminars.

We are truly happy to have found Loudoun School for the Gifted!

Academic Excellence

Our academic program is built around great books, great questions, and STEM-courses that illuminate the real world. We select only the finest content (rich texts instead of textbooks, open-ended questions instead of worksheets, and distinguished speakers discussing current, complex issues).

It is our view that the strongest students deserve the best teachers and content, and an environment focused on deep learning.

Curriculum Flexibility

We meet you where you are, independent of your age. For example, we have sixth graders working with college-level humanities content, and eighth graders beginning advanced math usually reserved only for highly selective STEM high schools.

Daily Happiness

We are small by design, because we want students to love being at school every day. Not only because they love the books, classes, and intellectual discussions, but because they feel like they are part of a community and know they have something valuable to contribute.

Philosophy Wars: Peanut Butter

LSG is located in Ashburn, VA, but for those of you coming from Reston or points east, we offer a morning and afternoon shuttle from the Reston Silver Line Metro Station.

Please join us for our last Information Session of the year to find out more about the private school designed to inspire and challenge advanced students in grades 6-12. We have five seats available for the 2018-2019 school year and only a few weeks left for prospective students to experience a day of classes at LSG.
