Fall is Here, Ring the Bells, Back to School: Back to School at LSAS

It’s the start of another year at LSAS! We are a month into school and finally getting used to the routine of classes, advisories, and clubs all beginning again. So far, there has been a class on living in the Anthropocene, we have discussed a student’s shoe business during advisory, and we have a student-led Table Tennis club. These three things, classes, advisories, and clubs, are just a few of the most important things that make LSAS unique. Every class has its own twist, each advisory is different from the last, and all clubs are student-led. So since it is the start of a new school year, I thought that I would share a few tips for this upcoming year!

Tip #1: Try to enjoy your classes! While this may sound a bit cliche, it is very relevant for a school like LSAS. If you are in classes that you don’t enjoy, then this makes for a not-so-fun school year so it is really important to join classes that you like. And if you don’t, you can try another one! You can definitely find, at least, one class that you are interested in.

Tip #2: Join clubs/extracurriculars. If I could describe LSAS in one word, I would say it is personalized. Meaning that you can personalize your clubs, by joining one that you like or even making your own club. As long as you have enough people interested in your club idea, it is really simple to initiate a club idea you are passionate about!

Tip #3: Be inclusive! Since this is such a small school, it is easy to stick within your small friend group. But it is really important for everyone to include others and make sure no one is left out.

I hope these tips are somewhat helpful. As I wrap up the first blog post of the 2023-2024 school year, I want to reflect on some things that I’m excited about in LSAS this year. I’m excited to learn a lot in my classes and build new friendships. I'm also excited to try new things and become more independent. That’s all for me this time, see you in the next one!
