Affording Loudoun School for Advanced Studies
We are committed to making a Loudoun School for Advanced Studies (LSAS) education accessible for as many talented and motivated students as possible. We offer need-based financial aid to allow more students to grow and thrive here.
We have a limited amount of funds available each school year. Applications for financial aid are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. For optimal consideration, applications should be submitted by March 15 for the following school year.
Our ability to offer need-based financial aid is determined annually based on donations.
529 Savings Plans
A 529 plan is a tax-advantaged savings account designed to help families save for education expenses, including college, K-12 tuition, and apprenticeship programs. Contributions grow tax-deferred, and withdrawals for qualified expenses are typically tax-free. Up to $10,000 per year can be used towards a beneficiary’s K-12 tuition. If you have multiple children, an account can be set up for each child. In addition to the benefits of contributing and using pre-tax funds for private school tuition, there is also a state income tax deduction on contributions. Additional details, as well as online tutorials, can be found on the Virginia529 website.
Whether you are a current or prospective LSAS family seeking more information about using a 529 account, feel free to contact us for assistance ([email protected] or 703-956-5020).
