The Loudoun School for Advanced Studies is offering rising 6th graders – 9th graders the opportunity to enjoy a week of fascinating team-building activities that combine science with fun.

Each day begins with Coach Dan, who will kick off the mornings with a wide range of fun and games to get everyone’s brain pumping. After lunch, Mr. Romero and Dr. Sohl will lead students through several exciting and challenging, science-based activities that will end with some friendly competition.

Some of the activities include:

  • Water Rockets - Learn how to design a rocket for both function and style – and see who can get the highest!
  • Mouse Trap Cars - Learn how to build a vehicle using spring energy and simple machines – and then compete in a drag race tournament!
  • Triangles - Discover surprising properties of triangles and other shapes
  • Bubbles - Learn about how bubbles minimize surface area and compete to create bubbles of different shapes
